Different between POP3 & IMAP in email Client

Greetings all

i want to ask what is the different between POP3 & IMAP that used in TeamWox email client

As far as I know, IMAP doesn't download entire emails into the server, so that if emails are deleted in the server, I can no longer view them.

POP3, on the other hand would download the messages on the server..

is my analysis accurate?.. so to save space, would it be wise to use IMAP?..
