New Version of TeamWox Server Build 702

What's new:

  1. Server: For more efficiency working, the feature of maximizing TeamWox Groupware windows is added. When preparing a huge text with images for a task, a note to an organization's history, etc. this feature allows to use maximum of available space. It increases the convenience level for users that work with text.

  2. Server: For more convenient using, the feature of saving charts as images in the PNG format is added. This function allows creaing and saving the image file of a chart, report, map, minmap etc. to the local disk. It allows to review the report materials not only in TeamWox collaboration software, but also in any other place where it is necessary. For example, when making a presentation, forming and printing the report documentation in the necessary format, when writing an email to a client or publishing at a website, etc.

  3. Server: To extend to possibility of exchanging the information between the TeamWox online business management software and the other information systems, the standard export mechanism is implemented. It allows to export the information both from the modules of the standard delivery and from the modules developed using TeamWox Groupware SDK.

    Currently the export of information is supported in the following modules: Organizations and Contacts (CRM, Customer Relationship Management), Products, Accounting, Administration/Users.
    Two export formats are implemented at the moment: to a CSV text file, that can be read by the Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice Calc editors of electronic tables; and to a HTML file. Using TeamWox Groupware SDK, one can implement the support of any necessary format of data export.

    At the export page the user can choose the file format, adjust the export settings and choose the data fields of the module to be exported. The list of chosen fields is memorized for the user and the module and applied at the next attempts of exporting data.

  4. Server: For compliance with the security policy of companies that use TeamWox groupware system, the "Identification Details" tab is hidden in the profiles of ordinary users. The viewing and editing information of this tab is only available to the administrators of users and to the users that have the "Human resources" permission.

  5. Server: For more efficiency, changed the mechanism of managing the sound notifications about changing and adding new information to the modules of TeamWox online collaboration software for small business. Previously when several tabs or windows of the browser with TeamWox Groupware pages were open and the sound notification was disabled in one of them, it was necessary to reload all those pages. In the new build if a notification is disabled in one page/tab, it becomes disabled in all the others.

  6. Server: For making the adjustment of settings easier and eliminating confusion, only two most popular variants of prefixes for calling via IP telephony are left for choosing, sip: и callto:.

  7. Server: For minimization of time spent by users for working with tasks, requests, documents, notes to organization (clients) and contacts, the feature of creating templates was added. This function is available at any page or window of TeamWox Groupware where the visual text editor is used. Using templates there is no need for a user spend time for typing the standard, frequently used phrases or text.

    Templates in the visual editor can be used for:
    • Working with documents, specifying the reasons of refusing to sign or making notes when reviewing it. For example, the following templates can be created: "Regulation mismatch", "Refused", "Postpone to", "To be signed by CEO", etc.;
    • Adding notes to the history of an organization or contact. For example, "Meeting in a week", "Refused from presentation", "Called to set a day for presentation", "Asked to call later", etc.;
    • Replying to client mails. As templates one can use the messages with commercial offers.
    • Composing the text of tasks and requests.

    Just like in the mail templates, the macros for substituting the information about the current user are available here. The tips for the macros in the windows of template settings will be available in the next update.

  8. Server: For extending the possibility of integration of the other information systems in TeamWox business management software and for the quick access to the information at the third-party resources, the new widget "External Resource" is added.  As you arrange it at the home page, you can specify URL address of a page that will be displayed in the widget window. For example, one can specify URL of a news site, a news aggregator, a page with reports or help information. For the convenience of viewing the information in the widget of a small size, it is recommended to use the versions of sites adapted to PDA, Smarthphones and other mobile devices.

    Attention: Pages that actively use the client scripts (JavaScript) may be incorrectly displayed and affect the working of TeamWox Groupware interface.

  9. Server: Fixed errors of displaying TeamWox Groupware pages in the Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.

  10. Player: For quick saving of currently viewed image to the hard disk, the Ctrl+S key combination is added.

Diagram Editor: To reduce the time spent for drawing block diagrams, algorithms, business process schemes, etc., added the commands for creating nodes above, below, on the right and on the left of the currently selected one; and also the commands for replacing the current node with another one.

    The commands allow to quickly compose a scheme draft without spending time for searching the figure and connecting it.
    Once the draft is ready, it is enough for the user to replace the figures with the necessary ones using the "Replace" command in the context menu.

  12. Diagram Editor: For the convenience of use, added the function of automatic resizing of objects by the text that is typed inside of them. It allows to reduce the time spent for editing an object, there is no need to manually change its size to fit the typed text.

  13. Task Manager: For making the typing of text in the window of task editing more efficiency to working, added the feature of changing/increasing the size of that window. This feature allows to use all the available space, what increases the comfort level of a user that works with huge text containing images.

  14. Task Manager: For more convenience and acceleration of adding and editing task, the Ctrl+Enter key combination support is added. Once you've finished typing the text, it is enough to press that key combination at the keyboard to add or save the tasks, what saves you from using a mouse.

  15. Documents: For more efficiency working with documents, the notifications (including sound ones) for the following events are added:
    • assigning a document for reading;
    • reading document by an assigned employee;
    • assigning a document for signing;
    • signing document by an assigned employee.
    The notifications allow to quickly inform the employee about documents that are assigned to him for reading/signing by an executive or a subordinate.

  16. Documents: For more convenient working, the documents assigned to you for reading/signing are highlighted with the bold font. This kind of highliting shortens the time spent for searching the documents that should be handled, as well as it reminds to perform some actions. Once the document is read or signed its name becomes normal.

  17. eMail Client: Added search indexing of email addresses. The implemented feature allows to search the messages by the addresses of sender and addressees.
    For example, to search a mail sent from out(at)yourcompany.com to адрес in(at)clientcompany.com, one should type both those addresses in the search line:

    For searching the emails written or received from in(at)clientcompany.com on exact date, one should use the advanced search and specify the same date for the beginning and the end of the search period.

  18. eMail Client: For making the adjustment of the system performance more flexible, added the option which allows to specify whether the selected mailbox will be indexed by the internal corporate search engine of TeamWox business management system. This option allows to decrease the load of server when indexing the messages of the chosen mailbox and when performing the full reindexing of information.
    This option should be enabled for the mailboxes, used for receiving emails that contain insignificant information (for example, mailing from different websites), and for the service mailboxes.

  19. Team: For improving the visualization of a company structure and the control while adjusting a company hierarchy, the new version of the tree-like structure of organization is added. The old version is available at the "Hierarchy" tab of the "Team" in the "Animation" section.

    Departments that are at the different hierarchy levels have different colors (for example, name of the company is blue, the first level is green, the second one is faded yellow, etc.).

    To view the subordination level of a department, one should put the mouse cursor over it. At that the selected department and the superior ones are colored in blue.

  20. Team: Fixed the following errors:
    1. error of indicating the fractional part of the amount in the window of editing the labour payments;
    2. regional setting of the beginning of week are now considered when viewing the working time of an employee.

  21. Organizations, Contacts, Team, Products: For making the typing of text more efficiency of working with the Business Management Software, the window of adding a note to the history of the listed modules is made resizable. This feature allows to use the maximum of available space, what increases the comfort level of a user that works with a huge text containing images.

  22. Chat: Added the button of calling an employee for a dialog right from the window of an already opened dialog. It allows to quickly start a dialog without using the "New message" command at the Live Chat (Online Assistent) page.

    When communicating with a client through the chat, you may need to call another employee for a consultation without adding them to the current dialog. The new function allows to perform this action quickly:

  23. Service Desk (Helpdesk): To increase the convenience of setting up the component of integration of the bugtracking for customer feedback with your website, the identifiers of group, category and product are displayed.

    If you need to limit the list of technical support service groups, categories and products to be shown to the website visitors (for example, if there are different language versions of the website), you should specify their identifiers in the "filter_groups", "filter_categories" and "filter_products" parameters. Those identifiers can be found in the window of a service group settings. If the parameters are left empty then all the groups, categories and products marked as "public" will be available to the website visitors.

  24. Accounting: To imporove the control over the actions of users, the entries of the TeamWox Groupware journal are expanded. If the information in a book, an invoice or a payment is changed, the entries containing the current and the previous values are added to the journal.

The live update Build 702 will be available through the LiveUpdate TeamWox Business Management Software.
