Are any backup copies of TeamWox data created?

The system is automatically backed up daily before the automatic update of the system starts (3.00 am daily).
By default, backup copies of data are stored in the backups folder in the same directory where the TeamWox server is installed.
You can change the directory and set up the backup depth in the Backup tab of the Administration module:

At the beginning of each month a full backup copy is created and saved in the specified directory under the name of YYYY.MM.DD. Further all backup copies created during this month contain only changes relative to the full backup copy. Such copies are saved in the indicated directory as YYYY.MM.DD.HH.MM.

The number of days during which daily backup copies are stored, is specified in the Backup depth field. Backup copies older than the specified number of days will be automatically deleted from the server.

How to install several TeamWox copies on one computer?

If you need to install several copies, you should allocate an additional IP address on your computer and indicate it during installation.

Besides, a new unique name should be given to the TeamWox service, e.g.: teamwox (domain name)

TeamWox is installed on Windows Server 2003/2008, but the infinite "Loading..." message appears when first entering the system. What's the problem?

This happens because Windows Server automatically installs enhanced security configuration for IE, in which the execution of Java scripts is disabled. In order to enable TeamWox entering on the server, execution of scripts must be allowed.

This can be done from the browser menu: Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> click "Local Intranet" -> Custom Level...:

Attention: We do not recommend changing security settings on the Windows Server.

How to move TeamWox server to the hosting provider's server?

To allocate TeamWox server you should host a dedicated server or VDS at your hosting company. Server must operate under Windows family system and have at least 1 Gb RAM. To move TeamWox server to the new server you should do the following:

  1. Modify parameters of the DNS entry, so that the domain entry points at the IP address of the new server, to which the TeamWox server will be moved. If you have used the free service of domain registration offered by our company (domains ending with "", "", ""), send us a request for changing DNS entry with a new IP address of the server. You can do this through Administration -> Request or send an email at support (at)
  2. On existing server. Stop the TeamWox service using the following command in the command line:
    <TeamWox installation path>\updater64.exe /stop 
  3. On existing server. Unregister TeamWox server as a service in the system: 
    <TeamWox installation path>\teamwox64.exe /uninstall
  4. Copy the entire TeamWox folder to a new server. Note, if you're using alternative path for database storage, copy database file as well.
  5. On new server. Register the TeamWox server as a service and install SSL certificate: 
    <TeamWox installation path>\teamwox64.exe /install /certinstall
  6. On new server. Activate new installation of TeamWox using the command:
    <TeamWox installation path>\updater64.exe /activate
  7. Make sure that TeamWox runs on new server properly.

How to reset password for TeamWox administrator?

To solve problems of TeamWox administration when the password of the only system administrator is lost, there is a console command for setting a temporary password for system entering. To reset the password do the following:

  1. Stop the TeamWox server. Run the console command
    updater64.exe /stop
    in the directory where TeamWox is installed;

  2. Set a temporary password for the system administrator. Execute the console command:
    teamwox64.exe /resetpassword "Administrator Login" Temporary_Password
    Instead of "Administrator Login" and Temporary_Password enter the login and the desired temporary password;

  3. Start the TeamWox server. Execute the console command:
    updater64.exe /start
    in the directory where TeamWox is installed.
    Attention! Access to the computer, on which the TeamWox server is installed, must be strictly limited.

Why during the installation of TeamWox server a message "You can't setup server to FAT system drive. Please choose another drive" appears?

Because while working TeamWox server can create files of size more than 4 Gb, files of such size are not supported by FAT(FAT16) or FAT32 file systems.
Therefore to install TeamWox you should choose HDD with NTFS file system, or convert the existing one to NTFS.

How to copy text from DOS prompt?

Wait till the command operation is over, then right-click in the console window and choose "Mark" from context menu.

After that select the text using the cursor and press the Enter key to copy.

Open editor or chat window and paste the copied text either using the mouse or pressing the Ctrl+V key combination.

Why do I get errors, when I try to download files over 50 Mb from folder connected through WebDAV to TeamWox system?

These errors are caused by default limitation preset in Windows system which inhibits to download files over 50000000 bytes.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
  3. In the right pane, right-click the FileSizeLimitInBytes value, and then click Modify.
    If you cannot see the FileSizeLimitInBytes value, right-click the blank space in the right pane, click New, click DWORD Value, type FileSizeLimitInBytes, and then click OK.
  4. In the Edit DWORD Value box, click to select the Decimal option. In the box under Value data, type a value that is larger than the size of the file that you want to download. Click OK.
    Note The default value for the file size limit is 50000000 bytes.
  5. Quit Registry Editor. Restart the computer.

What is the required configuration of a server to install TeamWox to?

System requirements for a server are relatively modest.

Minimal requirements:

  • Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server, Windows Vista, Windows 7.
  • 2 GHz Pentium 4 or higher.
  • 1 Gb RAM and more.
  • 5 Gb free hard disk space (after being installed TeamWox occupies about 300 Mb, the larger part of which is a morphological search index and a database). To start operation 1 Gb will be enough.

Recommended requirements:

  • Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server.
  • 2- or 4-core processor (Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Phenom and higher).
  • 2 Gb RAM and more.
  • Free hard disk space depends on the activity of users' operation in the system (tasks, email, documents, board). Recommended hard disk size is 100 Gb and more.
